Galveston County is entering a once-in-a-generation construction cycle.
Davie, a global leader in ship repair and marine services, is investing $750 million to expand its facility on the Galveston waterfront — the largest single construction project the island has seen in decades. That investment will generate an estimated 2,000 to 2,400 new jobs and $7 to $9 million in annual economic impact across the region.
But Davie is only part of the story. Texas A&M University at Galveston is building a $100 million pier. The Port of Galveston is executing a multi-year terminal expansion program. Major residential and commercial developments are underway across the county.
The demand for construction services — from general contractors and specialty trades to engineering, insurance, banking, and workforce — is accelerating.
The Galveston County Construction Expo brings all of it together in one room.
